This week the Rye Women’s Basketball team played two tough matches. The Bolts opened up the week by visiting the Antonito Trojans. The Bolts again got off to a tough start, being down 18-6 at the end of the first quarter. “We have to put together four solid quarters, we have been playing well at the end of the game, but we need to keep things together for the full game” said Coach Benedict last week. Rye would again play well down the stretch, but lost 53-41. Laura Ambler led the charge with fourteen points, six rebounds, and seven steals. Sophomore Madison Gookin scored eleven points. Natalie Phillips dropped ten, and was six of six in free throws. Rye couldn’t overcome the Trojans and Brenay Rubal’s 16 rebounds.
