Rock Island, Ill.- Brandon Johnson, a multi-sport standout from Rye High School in Rye, Colorado, has announced his plans to attend Augustana and continue his baseball career as a member of Coach Greg Wallace’s Vikings.
A 6’1”, 175-pound outfielder and right-handed pitcher, Johnson will enter his senior season having already earned three varsity letters at Rye. As a junior, he hit .519 with two homers and 28 RBI for Coach Stacey Graham’s Thunderbolts, who went 16-4 and won the Class 2A District 5 championship. Johnson slugged .759 with an on-base percentage of .594. On the mound, he went 1-2 with an ERA of 1.47, allowing just six hits while fanning 27 in 14 1/3 innings.
