The Rye Women’s Basketball Team visited the Alamosa Maroons. Alamosa and Rye played close in the first half with Rye being down 16-9 at the half. The floodgates then opened and the Maroons scored 40 in the half. The final score was Alamosa 56-21. The Bolts were without Laura Ambler for the game. Natalie Phillips scored ten points and grabbed five rebounds.
Rye then came back home and hosted the Sanford Indians. Rye played very well and beat the Indians 42-32. This is Rye’s second win of the season, breaking a nine game losing streak. Coach Benedict after the game said, “I am very proud of them and the way they played. In general it was the best we’ve played all season. We had great ball control and played together very well as a team. In general a great job with fewer turnovers.”
