The Rye Women’s Basketball Team played three tough games this last week.
The Bolts opened up their week on Tuesday hosting the Florence Huskies. The Bolts got off to a very tough start, finding themselves down 14-0 at the quarter mark and 24-4 at the half. Rye attempted to overcome this tough start in the second half, playing very well scoring 30 points in the second half alone. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough to make up the deficit as the Bolts lost 42-34. Rye got 11 points from both Laura Ambler and Natalie Phillips. Ambler sunk three shots from behind the arc. Ambler and Phillips both also had 11 rebounds.
The Bolts then visited the La Junta Tigers on the 10th. Rye played great defense, holding the Tigers to just 33 points. Rye would end up winning the game 39-33. This was Rye’s first road win of the season. A great step in the right direction from the Bolts.
