This week the schedules for the playoffs in 3A were announced for Rye women and men’s basketball. On Tuesday the fifth ranked men visited the number four seed, La Junta (14-5). On Wednesday the eighth seeded women visited number one seeded Colorado Springs Christian (17-2). These games will be covered in next week’s publication.

The men with a win will move on to play against the winner of Colorado Springs Christian and St. Mary’s. With the win the next match would be the 24th at 5:30 PM. If they lose they will have a matchup that same day at 11:30 AM.

The women’s team played a crucial “pigtail” match to clinch a playoff spot in the tournament. Rye hosted the number nine-seeded team in the Tri-Peaks league, the James Irwin Jaguars.
