About 10% of people booked into Pueblo County jail last year were homeless. That number, 565, was nearly triple the 204 with a homeless address in 2010. Also significant was the fact that about 10% of the homeless population booked into the jail were there for violent crimes. That percentage is consistent every year since 2010.

A plan for a recreational pot store across from the main branch of the Pueblo City-County Library is drawing opposition from library officials. Jon Walker, director of the library district, sent out a letter this week arguing that a pot store in that location would force the library to hire more security along with other issues.

To put homeless violent criminals in the same article as as a recreational pot store is wildly unfair , unsubstantiated,nonfactual, based on nothing but personal opinion.It is saying all violent crimes were committed by homeless because the smoked pot. A complete insult to anyone that smokes marijuana. Jon Walker needs to do some factual research before make such a wild statement.
