SCORE for the Life of Your Business president Michael Shoaf introduced himself to the Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce luncheon attendees as a father of two and Director of Lending at SunWest Credit Union, as well as president of the all-volunteer organization. “You only live once and I like to experience life,” added Shoaf.

He described SCORE as a national organization with over 11,000 volunteers dedicated to mentoring businesses through the life of their business. He emphasized that there are leaders with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience. All of which have in common the basic desire to give back to the business community.

Just to mention a few, local volunteers include backgrounds specializing in retail, manufacturing, franchising, financial analysis, strategic marketing, and the internet. As well as meeting in person, by phone or email the organization features a wealth of online resources beginning with help in producing a business plan to making plans to grow established business. In addition to numerous business templates and tools, webinars and online workshops can be accessed.
