Pueblo saw mixed results in the January jobs report as released last Monday by the State Department of Labor. Pueblo showed a 4.9% unemployment rate, better than the 5.5% rate last January but not as good as the 4.0% rate in December 206.
Statewide Colorado came in with a 2.8% rate in January, down from 2.9% in December and 3.4% in January of 2016. Colorado was one of the top job growth states in 2016.
The lowest unemployment rate of metropolitan areas in Colorado in January was the Boulder-Longmont area with a 2.6% unemployment rate. That area was at 2.1% in December and 3.0% last January.
