The Tri-Peaks League announced its All-League honors this week for basketball. Rye had three first teamers and one honorable mention between the boys and girls teams.
Junior Bryson Benedict received first team honors for his excellence at forward for the Bolts. Benedict was one of Rye’s team leaders with 13.6 points per game. Bryson was one of Rye’s team captains this year. One of Benedict’s best games this year was a loss against the Classical Academy, where Benedict scored 34 in a close effort. Fellow forward, senior Kevin Bailey also was selected to the All-League team. Bailey, the son of longtime football coach Jeff Bailey finished his high school career on a high note.
