Rye baseball played three games this week, including a nail-biter against the Buena Vista Demons.
Senior Brandon Johnson got the ball against the Demons, and immediately fell into trouble. The Demons scored four runs in the top of the first. Of those four runs, only one was an earned run due to T-Bolt errors. Rye found themselves down 5-2 coming into the bottom of the fifth, the Bolts then rallied for three in the inning to tie the game. In the sixth, Rye continued their momentum and scored three more. The Bolts won the game by an 8-5 score. Johnson would get through four innings, striking out six, walking five, and allowing only one earned run. Kevin Bailey came out of the pen and gave Rye three solid innings allowing only one run.
