Ada Clark at a solid 93 years old was nominated by her church for the Quiet Disciple Award presented by the Methodist Churches in the district. Last weekend she and six other members of the local congregation traveled to Wesley Methodist in Pueblo to celebrate Clark’s nomination and to congratulate the eventual winner from Granada.
Clark says she was “born a Methodist” and has attended the Rye Home United Methodist Church since she and husband Herbert (Herb) retired to the valley in 1982. They previously lived in Pueblo where they both worked at the Colorado State Hospital since 1949.
Ada left Michigan because Ada was suffering from rheumatic fever and needed a higher and dryer climate. She wrote a letter to the Director of Dietitics of the Colorado State Hospital in Pueblo and got a job as a dietitian.
Ada Clark was recently recognized for her service to the local
Methodist Church and the community
