I am going to borrow my meditation this week from page 75 of ďPrison to PraiseĒ by Merlin Carothers.

ďWe say we believe in God. But do we really believe that He controls every detail of our lives, or do we think Heís off on more important business? Jesus said that God knows how many hairs we have on our heads. So why canít we believe that He is more intimately concerned with every detail of our lives that we are ourselves? I certainly donít know how many hairs there are on my head!

God is controlling everything and working out everything that happens for good for those who love Him. (Romans 8:28)

I was beginning to trust God more, but what about Satan? Canít he sneak in and attack us against Godís will?

God permitted Satan to enter into Judas to betray His Son. God permitted Satan to make Peter so weak that he denied having known Jesus. He permitted Satan to enter the hearts of the men who plotted and schemed and crucified Jesus Christ. At any moment God could have stopped them. He could have sent ten thousand angels to sweep aside every plan of Satan. But God didnít stop it. Because He knew that when all the sin and suffering passed through Jesus, it would come out as pure joy, praise, and victory.

Satan canít do a thing to us unless he first gets Godís permission. Remember God allowed Satan to test Job. The only time God gives Satan permission is when God sees the tremendous potential in the thing passing through us and coming out as joy, pure joy!

When we begin to realize this, God can bless our lives. The power of the resurrected Christ is in us. Miracles, power, and victory will all be a part of what God does in our lives when we learn to rejoice in all things.Ē
