The Rye High School Girl’s Track team finished second to only 4A Pueblo County in the Ray Headley Invitational on Monday. The boy’s team also did well coming in 7th in the 18 team field.

Natalie Phillips continued her domination of the shot put event with a gold medal and a throw of 34’.75”.

Sister Felicity Phillips, a junior, “put it all together” in the words of head coach Tammy VanOort and had a season best throw in the discus of 107’0” to win the gold in that event. The younger Phillips also won a gold in the 4x800 meter relay along with teammates Katie Richardson, Makayla Rodriquez, and Hannah Ambler in a time of 11:45.83.
