Wet weather didn't dampen the enthusiasm of participants in the Youth Fishing Derby sponsored by the Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce at lake Beckwith.

On Saturday morning, April 22, 2017, the Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce held it’s 4th Annual Youth Fishing Derby. The weather, always difficult to predict in the Greenhorn Valley, was wet and chilly at Lake Beckwith, so much so that the start of the event was postponed for two hours. “We arrived to set up for registration, confronted with rain, snow, and wind, and decided to delay the start of the derby for two hours,” said Dennis Maroney, event organizer. “Believe or not, there were young people here, ready to fish at 7 am despite the weather,” continued Maroney.
