Pueblo, CO: Pueblo County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies and Narcotics Detectives arrested 16 people and seized an estimated 250 pounds of dried marijuana and 128 plants in two (2) unrelated illegal marijuana grow operations discovered Monday on opposite sides of the county. The estimated street value of the marijuana seized from both busts is worth more than in excess of a half million dollars ($500,000).

The Sheriff’s Office was tipped off to both grow operations by the public, who reported suspected illegal grows at a home in the 1800 block of N. Bear Gulch Lane in Pueblo West and a home in the 49000 block of U.S. 50 East in Avondale.

“I think we’ve made a dent in the number of illegal grows in this county, but I don’t think they’re going away. Hopefully in the near future, House Bill 1220 which recently passed and soon is to be signed by the Governor, will give law enforcement additional tools to help in the eradication of the “Black Market” in this county and across the state,” said Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor.
