Pueblo County, with assistance from the Colorado National Guard, evacuated seven people by helicopter Thursday afternoon after they were unable to leave their homes due to washouts on a section of Northcreek Road due to flooding in the area.

Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor, after conferring with authorities from the State of Colorado regarding the high costs associated with the Beulah Flood, requested through Pueblo County Commission Chairman Terry Hart that a disaster declaration be issued.
