A steering committee for the Colorado City Connectivity Trail System met with representatives from Altitude Land Consultants on Thursday at the Greenhorn Valley Library. Initial plans are underway for the system to include walkway construction around Lake Beckwith, as well as a pathway to the Peaks to Prairies Activity Center.

Drawings of this portion of the plan and aerial photos prepared by Altitude will be submitted to the Dave Anderson Environmental Group for further investigation and analysis prior to becoming bid-ready.

Colorado City Parks and Recreation Director Jim Montalbano led the initial Great Outdoor Colorado (GOCO) grant application process and will coordinate four public input meetings over the summer months. These meetings will be geared toward gaining input from the community regarding the trail system. The first public input session is scheduled for June 15, 6:00 p.m. at the Colorado City Metro office.
