Pueblo, CO: The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is now among an elite group of Sheriff’s Offices in the United States after having attained Triple Crown status from the National Sheriff’s Association.

Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor recently received the Triple Crown award at the National Sheriffs’ Association summer conference in Reno, Nevada. Triple Crown designation is achieved when a Sheriff’s Office attains simultaneous accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (CALEA), the Commission on Accreditation for Corrections (CAC) of the American Correctional Association (ACA) and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC).

“Achieving one (accreditation) is difficult enough, but all three simultaneously is an extraordinary feat,” according to the National Sheriff’s Association.
