The 1950s brought us that box in the living room better known as the TV. The black and white entertainment was designed to show the goodness of America. Which brings to mind two TV shows. One was 'The Big Story,' each show told a different reporter's Big Story, a true story selected from newspapers across the United States. The other was 'Big Town,' the series focused on the exploits of Steve Wilson and the staff of a newspaper as they reported on the important social issues of the day. Whether fact or fiction, both series demonstrated reporters pursuing due diligence, investigative reporting procedures to produce a true story. Fast forward to the modern day, so-called, mainstream media and their, so-called, journalists.
