The Colorado City swimming pool is busier than last year in both pool attendance and the number of young people taking swimming lessons according to Jim Montalbano, Colorado City Metro District Recreation Director.

The pool will be open regular hours through August 12, the Saturday before school starts, and Montalbano encourages everyone to beat the heat for as long as they can.

In addition to the increased numbers the pool has seen some facility changes over the last several weeks. C&J Concrete, owned by local Clint Gookin, has built a new wall in the courtyard, poured some new sidewalk, and replaced the disintegrating railroad ties in the parking lot, pouring a new retaining wall instead.
