Have you seen a group of teenagers wielding cameras walking the streets of Rye lately? If so, there's no cause for alarm, it is just the RHS photography class.

Mrs. Kacie Anglin, the fine arts teacher at Rye High School, has been teaching digital photography for six years. In this class students learn about taking photos and thinking artistically with those photos. The students learn the difference between snapshots and artistic photos, while also learning about composition rules, the elements of art, and the principles of design.

To achieve these learning goals, students have to get out of the classroom and take photos. Mrs. Anglin does go over the rules of taking photographs extensively. The students are not supposed to go onto personal property without acknowledgment from an owner. They are not to go on property that says private property, and they are not supposed to touch owners’ things. They are taught to be respectful and to be observers. If you don’t want students near your property, please send a message to Mrs. Anglin or call the school.
