The Rye High School Cross Country team joined nearly 250 runners last Saturday at the Pueblo Central Invitational. Raechel Lopez finished 40th in the women’s half of the meet in a time of 23:10 to place highest for the Thunderbolts.

“Raechel finished first again for the team,” said Head Coach T.J. Blackhurst. “She is running very competitively, keeping up with Rocky Fords top two girls until the last loop.”

Leading the men’s team was Jacob Garner who finished 61st of the 124 male runners in a time of 19:30.

Lindsey Muniz turned in a season best performance of 25:17 to finish 90th of the 118 female runners. Lauren Maroney also had her season best time of 26:15 for an 80th place finish.
