Deputy Brandon Talton was observing a home waiting for a wanted party to leave a residence from a Colorado City location on September 18 at about 1:00 p.m. Officer Talton observed a vehicle go to the apartment. When they pulled out officer Talton followed them and ran the plates.

They parked and the officer confronted the wanted party who was lying in the back seat of the vehicle. The plates of the vehicle were listed as stolen. The driver stated when he bought the car the previous owner let him use the plates to take the vehicle home. They did not have the title on hand.

The driver was cited for theft and the vehicle was left at the scene until proper registration could be verified. The plates were seized.

At about 6:00 p.m. on September 17 Deputy Shane Mullen was dispatched to a county location due to a fire. Flames were reported coming out of a fireplace. The reporting party said the fireplace hadnít cleaned their chimney in years.
