I like to do whatever I want to do with my home and my property. I am not a fan of rules and regulations, telling me what I can and canít do. On the opposite side of the coin I have some very strong opinions about what my next door neighbor should and shouldnít be able to do with his property. I donít want a swine operation next door. I donít want a marijuana operation or a glue factory, fifteen cars, or even a very vocal rooster next door to my home.

My concern over what my neighbor might do outweighs my chagrin about being told what I can and canít do. Thus, I am concerned about the ongoing lack of an architectural control committee to help oversee that the existing covenants in our community are being administered.

Last week, the Colorado City Metro District, of which I am one of five board members, rejected the application of two people to serve on the Colorado City Architectural Control Committee. I totally respect the right of each board member to vote their conscience in regard to the two applicants. But a question occurs to me, now what?
