Jenny Chung has begun her first year of teaching here in the Greenhorn Valley.

Chung graduated from Michigan State University with her teaching degree. (She was originally from California but after moving to Michigan she always felt like that was home).

She is now teaching Band and Choir at Craver Middle School and is also teaching band, choir and music tech at Rye High School.

When asked if there were any special techniques that she found were helpful with keeping the students more interested in their learning in class time and in studying too. She said, I like to have the students take stretching breaks, we also have random sight-reading sessions and changing up the seating seems to keep things more engaging in music classes. I also like to incorporate listening and improvisation activities or suggestions to keep students engaged in music even when they are not practicing.
