I had the opportunity to cover the workshop for the Master Trails Plan for the valley. Ten members of the community showed up at the event. The first meeting back in June had over 30. Im not sure if that is good or not.

Here is what I am sure of: for the most part, the ten people that attended opened up and gave a lot of input to the powers that be. They were divided into two groups, given a map of a Phase I proposal and put to work. Amazingly, they came up with most of the same ideas.

The openness appeared to be, in great part, due to the fact that the architect of the plan and local figurehead Jim Montalbano have been doing an amazing thing, they have been listening to the advice they solicit from the community.

One of the participants said that very thing, It is really nice to be listened to.
