Greenhorn Valley News – October 27, 2000 50cents per copy - 12 pages Black and White

The lead story on the front page was written by April Scott and titled “State Representative Lola Spradley Speaks to Lions Club.” The lead paragraph: “District 44 Representative Lola Spradley took time off the campaign trail this week to speak at the Colorado City-Rye Lions Club meeting on Monday, October 23 at the Colorado City Community Center.

A story by Virginia Hood on Seniors being served lunch led with the following paragraph,” Hot, tasty, and nutritious lunches from the SRDA in Pueblo, are delivered on Tuesdays to the Rye Methodist Church and on Thursdays to the Colorado City Community Center and have been for 25 years.”

“Ghosts and goblins of all ages love Halloween especially trick-or-treating. In a recent survey, 81% of moms and dads said trick-or-treating is a fun tradition for their kids and 73% admitted to nibbling on candy from their kids’ trick-or-treat bags.
