Seven members of the Rye Thunderbolt football team took the field for the final time Friday night in a home contest which they lost to Buena Vista 50-7. Peyton Baker, Colton Sims, Wyatt Willis, Will Goos, Dalton Strickland, Kyle Colbert, and Jensen Brower never lacked for “try” in a season that ended 2-7 overall, and 1-4 in league.

“Five of the teams we lost to have made the playoffs,” summarized Head Coach Pat Baker. “But, as I look back I realize how much the team grew and how hard they worked to get better. We did a lot of good things and I am already looking forward to next season.”

Thunderbolt Senior Quarterback Peyton Baker completed 13 of 24 passes for 114 yards including a screen pass that went for 48 yards to Senior Will Goos in the waning minutes of the season. Baker was not intercepted in the contest.
