According to Head Coach Jaime Donlon the Rye Thunderbolt volleyball team “left it all on the court” but fell short at the Regional tournament to number four seed Faith Christian. The three set loss ended the season for the Lady T’s who compiled a 14-11 record in Donlon’s initial season as the head coach.

Senior Kylie Baudino had six kills, 13 digs, and 27 received serves in her final volleyball contest. Rachel Shaffer had four kills and 16 receptions and Madison Gookin had four blocks. The ladies lost 17-25, 10-25, and 14-25.

“Big picture is that both of these schools are much larger than we are, and one of them is a private school,” shared Donlon. “The student population in 3A runs from 249-626 so we barely make 3A and I have been impressed by how well our girls compete against the larger schools.”

The game against Faith Christian was for the regional championship after the locals defeated the Aspen Skiers in four sets. The Lady T’s lost the initial game 19-25 but came back in fine fashion 25-17, 25-12, and 25-20.
