In a motion advanced by Sam Serracino and seconded by Kirstin Nelson, the Town of Rye Board of Trustees voted 3-2 to tighten the application of existing policies and charge delinquent customers the town’s right to serve fee. The action would add a modest amount each month to delinquent accounts. In a related development, Serracino asked to represent the board as its collection agent with overdue accounts. One account is some $959 past due in a situation that, according to Serracino, cannot be allowed to continue. The board action was taken at its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, November 16, 2017, at town offices on Main Street in Rye.

The board passed three resolutions, unanimously, in support of the 2018 budget: Adoption of the 2018 budget that is little changed from the draft budget considered just a month ago, the appropriation of sums of money to support the 2018 budget, and the establishment of mill levies collected on the town’s behalf by the County of Pueblo.
