"I bleed green" is a 4-H slogan, and no one personifies that motto better than long time leader Jody Griffin. Jody recently received recognition for 45 years of 4-H leadership. She was recognized at the Pueblo County Achievement Night in October, and again at the local club meeting in December. Jody had three children that went through the 4-H program in the 1980's and then grandchildren also were members. Even after her own kids were finished with 4-H, Jody continued to be involved.

She has been a leader in several clubs including the Rye Musketeers and Greenhorn Kickers. She has taught youth of the valley cooking, food preservation, livestock, leathercraft and many other projects.

She has been the organizational leader of the club for many years. On the 3rd of December, the current club members honored her with a gift certificate and plant for her work. She is "retiring" as organizational leader, but will continue to lead and help the club.
