The Rye High School wrestling team dropped a pair of duals last week but the losses were a product of weights where they had to forfeit not in head to head competition.

Last Tuesday Rye traveled to Salida and lost the match 48-36. In individual matches at 106 lbs. Zack Ruiz won a first period fall. In the next weight Rye’s Michael Atencio also scored a first period fall. At 120 lbs. Riley Pritchard got pinned in the second period. Colton Sims lost a first period fall in the 126-lb. class. Teddy Gomez at 132 lbs. won by forfeit. Levi Peterson, at 138 lbs. lost a second period fall.
