A caller reported they received a call from a party stating that they won a car and some money but had to a pay a fee to receive the prize. The caller said they assumed it was a scam but they wanted authorities to know about the call.

The deputy who took the report tried to call the number given to claim the prize but was unsuccessful in contacting anyone. The report was taken on January 25th at about 10:00 a.m.

At about 2:30 p.m. on the same day Deputy Joshua Burch was dispatched to a Rye address in regard to a theft from auto call. The reporting party said someone stole the rear Colorado license plate from their vehicle. The reporting party noticed the missing plate the day before but waited to report it until they looked on their property to make sure it hadnít fallen off. The plate was entered into CCIC as stolen.
