Last Monday several members of the Cuerno Verde VFW Post #7305 traveled to Westcliffe to present a trackchair manufactured by Action Manufacturing to the Eagles Summit Ranch located in Westcliff,Colorado.

The chair, which is specifically designed for mobility on surfaces that aren’t easily accessible, was donated to the local post by Gary MacCormack, Colorado City, who purchased it at a pawnshop in Colorado Springs. The original owner of the $12,135 chair fell on hard times financially and also had a health status change and was unable to use the chair.

Eagles Summit began on September 11, 2007. It is the brain child of Purple Heart winner Dave Roever. The facility was built as money was available and was completely furnished by Furniture Row and American Furniture at no cost. The dedication featured speakers U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft and Air Force General Bruce “Orville” Wright.
