Pueblo County School District 70 Middle School Spelling Bee which has been held at the Skyview Middle School in Pueblo West for the past few years was held this year at Craver Middle School in Colorado City for the first time on Thursday, February 15, 2018

There were all eight District 70 middle schools participating in the spelling bee; Beulah, Connect Charter, Craver, Liberty Point, Pleasant View, Swallows Charter, Vineland and Skyview.

Craver teacher and spelling coach, Thedea Chamblin said, “Craver Middle School is proud to host the 2018 District 70 Middle School Spelling Bee. The students have all worked so hard on this.” When asked how the four participants were chosen she said, “We had a spelling bee here in the school and took the four spellers and an alternate that won out of all of the Middle School students. These students are the ones that participated in the District 70 Spelling Bee on Thursday: Brian Dennis, Carissa Rains, Trevor Bradford and Gracie Pfalmer. The alternate was Lexy Buckly-McNamee.”
