For the fourth year in a row, Rye High School Art and Media Instructor Kacie Anglin has organized a gala event featuring the valley schools’ art and music accomplishments for your enjoyment. Next Thursday, March 8, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. residents of Colorado City and Rye can enjoy an evening out to celebrate the art and music programs at Rye High School, Craver Middle School, and Rye Elementary.

Admission to the Concert and Art Show Fundraiser is just $2, with proceeds going to the high school art and music programs. Described as a casual walk-through by Anglin, juried art from the three schools will be displayed in the cafeteria with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention ribbons. Each school’s work is also divided between four media categories.

When asked about the magnitude of putting the event together, Anglin said, “I wanted to get more people involved, and when I asked everybody came through.” She hopes art and music enthusiasts in the valley will enjoy the evening as much as many proud parents and grandparents.
