Ephesians 4:3-6

Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.

There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

one God and Father of all,

who is over all, in all, and living through all.

The first church in Jerusalem, founded shortly after the resurrection of Jesus has morphed over the last two millennia with the establishment of many different denominations, some of which are represented in the Greenhorn Valley. While there are some differences among our churches in core doctrine, the majority of our variances are based on preferences. As human beings, we tend to worry a lot about differences while I think we are at our best when we focus on what we share, what we have in common.

There were differences among believers in the early church on a variety of topics too numerous to discuss here. But, Paul focused on the common thread binding Christians together as a single body. Two thousand years later, we remain one body, led by one spirit, worshiping one God and Father in a single faith, albeit at a number of locations on Sunday morning.

On Friday, March 30, 2018, we have an opportunity to demonstrate “oneness” to residents of our valley when we come together for a Good Friday service at Table Mountain Church, 6154 Boulder Ave, Rye, at 7:00 PM. It is an opportunity for us to unite while recognizing the incredible cost associated with the glorious gift of salvation.

If you are a Christ follower, I hope you will attend while focusing on what Paul shared in Ephesians. If you are not a follower, I hope that you will attend to hear about the cost of the single greatest gift ever offered to mankind.

Come and join us in this very special service.
