The Rye High School Track Team attended the Hornet Invitational last weekend and finished 12th of the 16 teams in attendance.

“We felt very good about the meet,” said Head Coach Conner Pigg. “We have developed a hard-working team and it is starting to show.”

The girl’s 4X800 meter relay team won the gold medal in a season best time of 11:31.79. Faith Paquette, Jolee Ortiz, Emma Lesser and Hannah Ambler made up the first-place winning team. The girl’s 4 X400 meter relay team just missed a second gold coming in second in a time of 4:37.93. Ortiz, Ambler, and Lesser were joined by Kylie Baudino in that event.

Baudino placed 4th in the 300-meter hurdles. She posted a season best time of 54.85.
