There is a legend of a man and a boy riding in a boat. The man picked a leaf from the water and asked the boy what he knew about trees, and then he pointed to a large rock formation and asked the boy what he knew about rocks.

As the stars appeared, again he asked the boy what he knew about stars. The boy said he had not done much thinking about any of the things mentioned.

The man said,” you have just lost 75% of your life by not thinking about those things.”

Just then the boat was caught in a swift current headed for a waterfall. The boy said, “You must jump and swim for your life.”

To which the man said, “I have never thought about swimming and don’t know how.”

To which the boy replied,” You have just lost all your life.”

In Psalm 119:59 we are told about a man who said, “I thought on my ways and turned my feet….” After thinking about his life, he turned to God and found all that he had hoped for.

Opportunities are lost and much pain is caused by not taking time to think. We can be so busy with perfectly good things like making a living, getting an education or pursuing goals for this life only we don’t think about spiritual things and where we will spend eternity when we die.

This life is very short compared to eternity. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. “

Do you believe this? We need to do some serious THINKING and make certain we are ready to meet Jesus at any time. THINK AND LIVE.
