Damon Elarton won his fourth ballgame of the season last week on the road at St. Mary’s and according to Head Coach Stacey Graham it was the “best outing of his high school career.” Elarton surrendered four hits, and three walks and his teammates provided plenty of runs as the Thunderbolts downed the home team 7-1 in the second game of a doubleheader. Elarton struck out seven and allowed a lone earned run in the complete game victory.

Zach Richardson had three hits and Johnny Marquez drove in a pair in the win. Austin Gookin and Bryce Benz provided support in the field with a combined 14 tries in the field in which the made 10 put-outs and got four assists.

“Going into the last inning Damon had thrown 100 pitches,” related Graham. “Pitchers are allowed a maximum of 110. He said he felt good so I told him to throw 10 fastballs. He did, nine of them were strikes and he struck out the side.”
