Pueblo County Planning and Zoning Commission approved a special use permit for Ladies Workout Express to occupy the Colorado City Community Building off of Santa Fe Drive.

Combat Medic, recently promoted to Special E-4 Adrian Martinez was home from Rawah, Iraq for a two week visit with her family. She had been in Iraq since Sept., 2005.

Rye High School had nine girls and eleven boys participating in the 2A and 3A State Track Meet at Dutch Clark Stadium. Sarah Manuel broke the record in the 100m hurdles, Ariel Ambler, Hillary Crawford, Lauren Lauritzen, and Harder broke the school record in the 4X 800m relay. Mark Reding broke the school record in the discus throw and the shot put. Morgan Baker finished seventh in the shot put, Ariel Ambler won fourth in the triple jump. Jake Swartwood was injured and unable to run, but the boys 4 X 400 relay team of Matt Tannehill, Juan Gallegos, Calby Choate, and Mark Reding finished eighth.
