Forty-Four Graduate from Rye High School

Forty-four Rye High School students ended their high school career Friday night at the 2018 Commencement Service held in the gymnasium at Rye High School. Seven of the graduates received a Gold Cord, indicating a grade point average (GPA) of 3.6 or better with at least eight quality points. Nine graduated with a Silver Cord, indicating a GPA of 3.25-3.59 and eight quality points.

Twenty-three of the graduates received scholarships. Two have entered the armed services. Two, Kaylee Fox and Elizabeth Hamler, sang the National Anthem. But for everyone, the defining moment seemed to be when Senior Class President Tristan Fry gave the assembled seniors permission to move their tassels from the right side to the left side.
