Just north of 165, west of the businesses near the I-25 exit, but east of the residential area, there is another town. It stretches at least as far north as the cemetery and is inhabited by probably a hundred or more individuals. But these citizens are of the four-legged variety: they are prairie dogs.

Prairie dogs are considered vermin by many farmers and with good reason: a horse or cow can easily break a leg if it steps in a prairie dog hole. In addition, the prairie dogs denude the land so livestock can't graze on it.
