From the Pages of the Paper

The Colorado City Sun-Published by The Colorado City Development Company-July 1970-Black and White- Free-Sent to Colorado City Residents

New construction was rampant as Colorado City Development swung into full force. The Nick Butkovich Construction Co. was pushing to finish the Holiday Inn (now the Days Inn) so that it could open that summer. Bob Moore’s Conoco service station, adjacent to the Inn, was scheduled for completion in July. There were 3 new model homes being constructed on Lunar Drive. A model vacation home was under construction in the Knollwood Estates. A dozen new mobile homes had been moved into Applewood in July, and the pool and bathhouse were opened in June 1970. The Colorado City Sun reported new residences were being started every week, at the time of printing this issue of the paper, there were 30 houses in various phases of construction.
