An even dozen wildfires continue to burn in Colorado this week. Here is a summary of the status of the fires.

The Spring Fire started on June 27 at 3:57 p.m. It was human caused and the subject has been arrested. The fire is listed as 91% contained and has burned 108,045 acres the third largest fire in Colorado history. The fire is in the LaVeta, Fort Garland, Cuchara area.

The Lake Christine Fire near Basalt and Carbondale has claimed 12,588 acres. It is listed as 90% contained. The final area that is still smoldering is in inaccessible terrain. The fire was allegedly started by tracer bullets being fired. A couple turned themselves in and were charged with arson. The fire began on July 3. Three homes have been destroyed.

The Bull Draw fire, 12 miles northeast of Nucla began on August 4 and has already burned nearly 7,000 acres. It was caused by a lightning strike.
