We are entering our tenth year as editors of the Greenhorn Valley View. Last year we won, I believe, 14 awards from the Colorado Press Association. One of those awards, was the top award in advertising for every paper in our circulation division. We love the paper and have some great people helping us but it is difficult to get away for an extended period of time. And especially the last three years have gotten busier and busier and busier.

My daughter and son-in-law just had our fourth grandchild. My daughter spent 36 hours in labor. The children are all under six years of age. Three of the four are mobile. We love them all dearly and spend a lot of time with them. We take care of them at every opportunity. They are very fast and very young. My wife and I are neither of those.

I recently began my third year as a member of the Colorado City Metropolitan District. I was elected President of a Board that is probably the most divided of any board I have seen since we moved to the area in 2005. In addition, we are on Facebook Live. Now there is not only the pressure of often casting the deciding vote, but also having to look good and speak articulately. The last meeting the sound went out. Way less pressure.
