The River of Life church will be hosting their 5th Annual Western Days Festival on September 29-30, at the church. For the first year since its inception the church is expanding the event from an “in church” event to a community event to celebrate western heritage, patriotism, freedom of religion and good old-fashioned fun.

Events will begin Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Vendors will be selling arts, crafts and food. At 3:00 p.m. a concert by the Shadow Riders Band from Burlington will take place. The concert will last until 5:00 p.m. As a group, Shadow River has been entertaining audiences all across Canada and along the Eastern Seaboard.

There are several booth spaces still remaining. If you have something you would like to sell at the event you can contact Gale Jirik at (719)489-3540.

Sunday kicks off with a Cowboy Church Service at 10:30 a.m. It is rumored that the members of the congregation will be decked out in cowboy and mountain man regale. If Pastor James Naron cooperates, the service will be over by 12:15 p.m. when five of the local restaurants put their best foot, er-r-r-r chili, forward to try to convince a panel of esteemed judges they have the best chili in the valley.
