The regular meeting of the Rye Fire Protection District Board of Directors was held on September 17. Chairman John Schaiberger, Directors Michael Graber, Rich Simpson, Wally Rice, and George McGoff, as well as Chief Steve Bennett and Captain Jim Beach were all in attendance.

The Treasurer's Report was discussed in some detail again this month. Chief Bennett was asked about the general procedure for accounts payable. He explained that he goes through all invoices and initials them before a check is written. Chief Bennett also brings all invoices from the month to each meeting. A motion was made and carried that the all invoices in excess of $500, plus additional randomly selected invoices, will be reviewed by the Board each month prior to signing the checks. The number of randomly selected invoices may vary each month, but will equal 10% of the total invoices received that month.
