The Rye High School Volleyball Team defeated Swallow’s Academy in three straight sets at home and then traveled to St. Mary’s and won a hotly contested match, three sets to two.

Rachel Shaffer had 13 kills and 22 service receptions in the St. Mary’s contest, that see-sawed back and forth. After three sets Rye was down 2-1 and had to win the 4th and deciding 5th set on enemy territory to gain the victory.

Ella Peters contributed six blocks and 18 assists and Hannah Ambler added nine kills in the victory. Madison Gookin also had half a dozen blocks. Jami Ortiz had seven digs and 18 assists and Ashlynn Romine had 19 digs and 36 service recoveries.
