The Greenhorn Valley Literary club is proud to announce they have selected Jonathan Ambler as their local Author of the Year. He is the first local author to be so honored in the 27 years the literary club has been meeting. Jon's book, The Rich Man's Son, is based on a story he learned in Sunday school, and has told his children many times over the years. Jon says, "The purpose of writing the book is to inspire young people because so many young people have an entitlement attitude." The Rich Man's Son tells the story of a privileged young man forced to mature and learn success through hard work and learning that accomplishments determine worth, not money.

In addition to his published book, Jon has another novel in progress. He has also written several plays, some of which have been performed in Rye, including Catch me if You Can in which both Jon and his wife, Jill, performed. Most of the family was involved with putting together the published book. His daughter did the art work and his son served as the hand model for the cover of the book.
